Board Member Portal
If you serve on a school board, Swiftscore gives you a dedicated, focused view for one purpose: reviewing and responding to your superintendent's evaluation. This guide explains what you can see, what you can do, and why your access is scoped the way it is.
Who this is for
This guide is for school board members (trustees) who have been given board-level access to Swiftscore by their district. Your account is created by your district administrator and is separate from staff, principal, and superintendent accounts.
What you'll see when you log in
When you sign in with your board credentials, you're taken directly to your superintendent evaluation portal. There's no extra navigation to find it — it's the only place your account goes.
Your portal shows:
- A header identifying the superintendent under evaluation, along with any actions currently available to you (for example, submitting feedback or casting a vote).
- A status banner showing where the evaluation currently stands — for instance, whether the superintendent's submission is awaiting your review, has been sent back for revision, or has been approved.
- A progress overview describing what stage the evaluation cycle is in.
- A goals section listing the superintendent's stated goals for the cycle, each marked with its current status.
- A timeline of the evaluation's stages from start to finish, alongside a list of the board members participating in the cycle.
Everything in your portal relates to this one evaluation. There are no class lists, no individual teacher records, and no district-wide dashboards in your view — that data belongs to a different part of the platform that board accounts don't have access to.
What's isolated, and why
Swiftscore's board portal is intentionally narrow in scope. Board oversight is meant to operate at the district leadership level — evaluating the superintendent — not at the level of individual teachers or classrooms. To protect that boundary, your account is restricted from:
- District dashboards and analytics
- Teacher and staff lists
- Individual teacher evaluation records
- Any tools for creating or managing evaluations
If you try to reach one of those areas directly (for example, by typing a different web address), you'll be redirected back to your evaluation portal. The only other pages available to a board account are sign-in/sign-out and your own profile settings.
This separation exists so that board access never doubles as a window into staff-level evaluation data. Your role is district-level oversight of the superintendent — not visibility into individual teacher performance.
Reviewing the evaluation
Within your portal, you can open each section — goals, timeline, and participants — to review the superintendent's progress through the current evaluation cycle. The status banner tells you at a glance whether action is needed from the board or whether you're simply waiting on the next step.
How the cycle works
The superintendent evaluation moves through a small number of stages:
- Setup — the superintendent records their goals for the cycle and invites board members to participate.
- Awaiting board review — board members review the submission and respond.
- Revision requested — if the board sends feedback back for changes, the superintendent can revise and resubmit.
- Approved — once the board signs off, the evaluation is finalized for the cycle.
Your portal's status banner always reflects which of these stages the current evaluation is in, so you know whether you have an action to take.
On the superintendent's side
Superintendents (who hold administrator-level accounts) have their own dedicated evaluation page, separate from the board portal, where they record their goals, invite board members to the cycle, and track the board's response. That page is only visible to the superintendent's own account and is not part of what board members see.
Availability
The board evaluation portal is enabled on a per-district basis. If your district has it turned on and you've been issued board-level credentials, you'll see it automatically the next time you sign in. If you don't see it, check with your district administrator to confirm board access has been enabled for your account.
